Weekly Art Challenge: Mermaid and Catfish
This was painted for Weekly Art Challenge #188. The challenge was part of the #mermay challenge. I painted a mermaid playing with a catfish as if it's her cat.
I didn't love the way the mermaid's face came out. Also, I tried inking on top of the paint this time, and that caused much more ink than I expected to flow out of the pen.
I tried to paint this a second time without sketching it because I wanted a better background, and I wanted to try not using ink. I ended up liking the first attempt better.
