Air Conditioner Controlled via PC or Internet - Attempt 2
Attempt 2
I decided that I needed a more rigid structure.
I clamped an old CD-ROM drive on my windowsill. I drilled a hole in the drive tray and attached a piece of all-thread rod. Using its motor, I would pull the drive tray in, causing the rod to pull against the button, pushing it. The problem was the torque pushing against the rod twisted the plastic CD tray rather than pushing the button.
I put a wrench on the rod. I hoped that would become the fulcrum of a class 3 lever. Instead, the motor just didn't move. Rather than replacing the motor with a more powerful motor, I looked into other methods.
