Biweekly
One of the dumbest words in the English language:
bi·week·ly
–adjective
- occurring every two weeks.
- occurring twice a week; semiweekly.
Why one word means both once per every two weeks and four times per every two weeks makes no sense to me.
In any case, it seems that I post on average around the frequency of definition 1. During these two weeks, I've created a basic About Me page as well as an Archive index. Lately, my time has been divided amongst:
- Work
- A web design/software freelance project
- Apartment maintenance
- Friends
- Video and graphic projects for fun (jokes with friends, etc.)
- A Peltier drink cooler
- I finished this one. I have lots of pictures to post once the write-up is done.
- The RC Tank
- A better home automation protocol
- An automatic door light
- A Risk clone
- Movie reviews (maybe)
The tank is still a long way to completion.
The home automation protocol is project that I play with when I'm bored. I don't expect much to come of it since I'm not really taking it seriously yet.
The automatic door light was done, but it was battery-powered and hacky. I don't like requiring both batteries and an electrical socket.
The Risk clone is, after many iterations through code rewrites and redesign, basically a frontend for a MySQL database. It's a multiplayer turn-based world domination game. I have a lot of ideas for fun features, but the basic game has to be done first. There are a lot of obstacles to overcome, and it should make for an interesting story when I have some time to write a post about it.
Finally, I think I have an idea for the site in between project postings. I watch a lot of B-movies. I rediscovered my webcam recently as well as my love of video and image editing. I think I would like to try my hand at making video reviews of some of my favorite and most hated movies, both A and B grade. I own a lot of movies, and this will give me an excuse to rewatch them. I think it might be fun.
Edit (August 16, 2010): I'm currently working on this. I'm having a big problem with audio quality. Once I get this set up, I'm almost definitely doing this.
